A fruit bridge holds fruit up and away from each other. Air can circulate through freely, so there is no trapping of ethylene gas (as in a bowl), which would quickly speed up the ripening/spoiling process.
There is no crowding, no pushing, no injuring.

WHY DOES IT MATTER?
Because 43% of all food produced in America is wasted in our homes. Among food groups, fruits and vegetables account for the greatest loss and waste.
Unfortunately, disposed food in landfills emits methane, a greenhouse gas more potent than the carbon dioxide emitted by most vehicles.
